Liberty Belles Select Valera With First Pick The Philadelphia Liberty Belles selected 3B Leonor Valera of Chile with the 4th pick of the first round of the inaugural Venus Baseball League draft. The 32 year old left handed power hitter is considered to be one of the top all-around players in the draft. "We are excited about having Valera in our line-up. She is a fearsome hitter and should provide some leadership for the team," said Manager Catherine Bach.
