Firebirds Select Barton With First Pick The Phoenix Firebirds selected pitcher Mischa Barton of London, England with the 6th pick of the first round of the inaugural Venus Baseball League draft. The 19 year old right hander is expected to become a dominant starter if she lives up to her potential. "Barton just scares people when she pitches," said Manager Dyan Cannon. "She throws in mid-90's, is aggressive and goes after the hitters."
