  The Emeralds are VBL Gems!
Win Inaugural VBL World Series 4-1

The Seattle Emeralds are the very first Venus Baseball League World Champions. With a convincing 4-1 game series win over the American League Chicago Banshees, they have the honor of winning the inaugural VBL Word Series.

How's this for karma? The manager of the winning Emeralds was none other than Geena Davis, she of "A League of Their Own" fame and one of the inspirations for the Venus Baseball League.

"This is much more than I hoped for," said Davis. "The ladies were just fantastic to work with and all their effort and hard work really paid off," she said as she accepted the World Series Championship trophy from her League co-star and VBL Commissioner Tom Hank. "This is just a dream come true."

LF Jill Scott (9-20, .450, 6 rbi, 1 hr, 2 doubles) and SP Amanda Bynes (2 games, 1-1, 16.2 ip, 0.56 era) were named Co-MVP's of the series.
